I found five work at home companies who provide remote work you can do from the comfort of your own home.

  • Real
  • Paying
  • Remote
  • Gigs

From legitimate companies who specialize in tapping the remote labor market. You have skills, you have time, you have an interest and motivation to work from home.

They have the tasks and budget to pay for your labor. It’s a truly win-win situation. And I’m going to give you the low-down on actual companies that pay people to work from wherever. And it’s a diverse group of companies from traditional employers to contract positions to gigs. And I’ll tell you how much you can make with each position. There’s something for everyone on this video.

We all know there are scammy companies out there. Companies that have no conscience about stealing your money and your time. The companies I picked are established businesses in the remote work space. Nobody paid me to make this video. This is my unvarnished overview. If you’re looking to work from home and you’re not looking to waste your time or money. I think you’ll get some value here.

And if you stick around to the end, I’ve got one bonus tip that will help you find the absolute latest work-at-home opportunities no matter when you watch this video. So stick around for that bonus tip.

I’m Brandon Clay and I have worked at home for the better part of a decade at this point. I work from home part time now – I love it. The freedom it affords, the gas it saves, and the peace that comes from setting your own hours. If you haven’t tried it, give it a shot. You may love it. Enough about me, let’s talk about these companies.

Hilton

Hilton, the global hospitality company, has figured it out. They can do customer service from anywhere – including your home. As of recording this video, they’re currently highlighting a work at home “Hilton Reservations and Customer Care Guest Engagement Specialists”. If you like chatting with people and enjoy helping them with their business trips or vacations, this could be a perfect job for you. They didn’t post compensation on their website but on other websites the pay seemed to start around $16/hour with some positions paying $100K/year with commissions.

One issue I found on their website is their filter didn’t always highlight all the current work at home jobs. The connection between HR and technology is not always seamless. So make sure you crosscheck opportunities with a jobsite like Indeed.com to see the latest work at home opportunities. The queries you would use at Indeed.com would be “hilton” and “remote” and it should give you all the current listings – sometimes better than what’s listed on the company website.

Appen

Appen is based out of Australia with US headquarters in Kirkland, Washington. If you’ve done a little bit of work-at-home research, then you’ve probably come across these guys. What I love about this company is the flexibility. If you’re looking to supplement your income a little, you can start immediately with micro-tasks. Appen specializes in the gig economy. According to Indeed.com, Appen gig workers start around $9/hour with opportunities to $57,836 per year – so there’s lots of room for growth and it’s super-easy to start with little to no experience.

It’s a simple signup process if you’re familiar with signing up with anything these days. After you set up the account and verify your email, you’re led to connect your PayPal account. If you don’t have one yet, skip it and you’re onto seeing the opportunities. Once you do simple tasks, you level up to more advanced, higher-paying tasks. You may not get rich working at Appen, but you also won’t have to pay for gas driving into the office. There are some very nice benefits to working at home.

Belay

Belay specializes in work at home, 1099 positions. They are a virtual assistant company with other positions as well. These roles will pay anywhere from $15-22+ hour according to Google Jobs. But the best part of these Belay roles is they are 100% remote – work at home positions.

If you’re unfamiliar with the virtual assistant role, you’re handling tasks for executives in smaller companies. You could be booking travel one day and managing social media accounts the next. It’s a fairly flexible position. I haven’t done that job, but I’ve had a personal assistant with my business and I make it a point to show my appreciation. She seems to enjoy the work, but every company is different.

BTW – I looked into Belay related to how well they ranked by their employees and former employees and they scored a 4.1 out of 5 stars over at Indeed.com. That’s actually pretty strong for a work from home opportunity.

Liveops

Going back to another aggregator type job source – there’s Liveops. LiveOps pays self-employed independent contractors to work remotely in jobs like retail support, inbound sales, insurance claims, and home delivery support. It was hard finding pay for LiveOps but one reviewer on Indeed.com said it averaged out to $18/hour.

Indeed.com displayed a healthy number of reviews with an average of 3.8 (out of 5 stars). That’s not bad for a company staffed by contractors. LiveOps offers contractor, not employee positions, but it may be perfect for your current work goals.

One issue about LiveOps, you may not reside in a state that is eligible for employment. And if you’re traveling in an RV, you may have an issue logging in from a non-eligible state. You can contact the company or sign up for VPN service to point your VPN to a different state while you’re traveling.

Lionbridge

I saved the most interesting company for last: Lionbridge. It’s a 40 year old company with a lot of experience employing work-at-home talent. The diversity of jobs is astounding. Since they do a lot of translation work, you will find more opportunities if you are bilingual. The opportunities will expand based on your skillsets (like most things). Game testers make around $12/hour and there are other positions push well north of 6 figures.

As for exact opportunities, you can check out their careers page. They’re currently hiring social media evaluators, account executives, content editors, and a lot more. Make sure to drill down on just the remote positions only because that’s what we’re talking about today.

Bonus Tip: What happens if one of the opportunities is no longer available?

One bonus tip before you go! It is possible that one of the companies or opportunities I mentioned is no longer hiring. That happens. But don’t worry, work at home jobs aren’t going anywhere. So if Hilton is no longer building out their at-home workforce, somebody else is. Here’s the bonus search I want you to get super familiar with:

Remember, these jobs aren’t going to just happen for you. You will need to apply, and sometimes prove your worth. You will need a reliable computer and internet connection, but the fact that you don’t have to spend 2+ hours in a car everyday should be motivation enough. Not to mention the pay.

“The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied.” Proverbs 13:4

So say “goodbye” to the inner-sluggard and say “hello” to the inner-diligent person you are so you can be richly supplied by your new work-at-home opportunity. All the best!
