- Looking to join the remote work revolution?
- Already work from home and just want to earn more or improve your work-life balance?
- Bottom line: are you looking to earn more and live more – remotely?
How many people are working from home these days? After the pandemic with enforced lockdowns and countless Zoom meetings, a lot more than before. According to a University of Washington study, it’s estimated that 25% of US-based jobs can now be done completely remotely: think writers, consultants, coders, designers, and a host of other people who don’t need a traditional office or job site to do work.
Twenty-five percent of jobs in the 150-million plus full-time jobs in the market (according to Statistica) is a lot of jobs. And that doesn’t even account for all the contract roles and small business entrepreneurs who work from home. The opportunity is there for the taking for anyone who wants remote work! And it’s here to stay in this new post-quarantine economy.
Personal Story on Breaking into Remote Work
Want to work from home but don’t know how to break into the market?
I was in the same place a few years ago. I’m Brandon Clay and I spent years in corporate America working for two Fortune 100 companies. It wasn’t all horrible, but sometimes it was. The worst part is how it takes up so much time with meetings, and commuting, and all the non-productive things I did as part of my job.
Then, providentially, I stumbled into digital marketing. I didn’t study marketing in college and hadn’t read a marketing book in my life prior to preparing for a new position, but I found a new job in a new industry making more than I was making in insurance sales – at a job I loved. All told, it took about 8 months to completely shift careers. A couple years later, I found myself working for a small marketing firm where I learned the basics of Google marketing. And I got good at it.
I learned later that this was a perfect job to do from anywhere. That was almost 15 years ago. And since then, I spent most of that time working remotely. And it’s been great! I love being able to work when I want, work where I want, and get paid well for the effort.
Plus, there are a lot of benefits that you may not be aware of. At least for me, there’s been fewer distractions, more productivity, no commute, more money, and frankly saving money when I don’t have to buy gas, clothes, and food because I’m working from home. And getting back time is probably the biggest benefit. You’re home so you’re near your family. You also get more time back for your friends or projects by working from home.
Problem in Remote Work Space
When I started this project, I noticed that there’s a lot of people who want to learn about remote work. They see the benefits of location independence and higher income potential. But probably most importantly they’re looking for more time to focus on family, relationships, or other things they could not explore in a traditional work environment. Why? Because of the 40-60 hours they’re working at the job and the 1-4 hours spent commuting every single work day. If you think about it, it’s not a fun way to live. Thankfully, there are alternatives.
Solution: Remote Purpose
Here on this website, we explore remote work, what kinds of jobs you can do remotely, what kind of businesses you can run, how to make more working remotely, and how to do it so you can achieve a better work-life balance. One slight twist on this website & channel is we want to do remote work and business from a Christian perspective so there’s an ethical and purposeful grounding to our work. In this way, you can fulfill your greater purpose not just by work, but in life with God’s principles.

- At the same time, do you want to align your work with Christian values?
One of my favorite Psalms says:
“Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands!” (Psalm 90:17 ESV)
That’s my hope for you: that your remote work would be established and that you would prosper in your diligent efforts in the best kind of work that’s out there: remote work.
